Development Set to Begin
The initial design is coming to an end and we are moving into development. Web design does not end with mock ups, as we move into the front end development more changes and tweaks will continue to be made as the site begins to take shape. My posts as the web designer will be more about the other things I need to design such as a new Twitter background, format our blog into the new design, the new favicon, Apple touch icon, etc… It’s all the other design that needs to be done using the new logo, the new messaging, and visual. That will be going on over the next couple months as the site is being built. I may have some things to say about the site build.
From here the front end developer will start to write posts on the process of building this design and what we are doing to make sure the site is validated by W3C for HTML5 and CSS3. Development is set to get underway the second week of September and hopefully wrap up by early November.
I hope you enjoyed watching the site design go from the initial grid and layout…
to the gray boxes with Lorem Ipsum…
to the black and white beginning of design…
to the color being added…
to the graphics being placed…
through the wrong turns and ideas that didn’t stick…
to the finished working draft ready to start production…
I have had a lot of fun sharing with you my process for designing a website. I know I have said this a lot through out the blog, but the design isn’t over and more changes will come as we build the site. I have also taken a break from this design as I worked on other projects for eClick. It’s good to step away from a design for a little while to clear your head and look at it again later with fresh eyes. Any changes to this working draft will not be posted formally so I guess it will be a surprise at this point how the final build of the site will end up looking.
I can’t wait to get it into development.
