Price Of Soma

Jul 28, 2009

Graphic Motif Price of soma, The first thing I did was look for background textures and think of a main graphical theme or motif to use in the design. I call any graphic on the page an element, Illinois IL Ill.. Comprar soma baratos, Graphical elements are everything that isn’t text, art, cheap soma from canada, Florida FL Fla., or photography. The logo technically is, order soma bars, Pennsylvania PA Penn., but I don’t think of it as a graphical element. I may use the logo in conjunction with other graphical elements giving it a feel it is connected to the rest of the page and not the obligatory plopped in the upper left corner, North Carolina NC N.C., Soma online stores, or I may borrow an element from the logo and use that as the motif through out the site. It always depends on what I have to work with, price of soma.

Paper or Plastic

A background graphic can completely change the look and feel of a page, φτηνές φαρμακείο soma. Cheap soma online, I knew I wanted a background that would function like a canvas for my artwork, so the obvious choice would be a canvas texture such as a cotton duck or linen, acheter soma discount. Washington WA Wash., That felt a little too fine art for us, we don’t paint pictures we make web sites, buy soma without prescription, Rhode Island RI R.I., so canvas was out. Next thought was paper, ordering soma online cheap. Price of soma, There are so many types of paper. For soma online, I see a lot of grungy old paper textures these days, or notebook paper, Utah UT, Rabatt kaufen soma, legal paper, etc… I wanted a paper texture that looked like a poster, ordering soma bars. Koop korting soma, I was finding a lot like this, but they were more cardboard looking, αγοράζουν online soma, Buy soma from canada, or paper grocery bag type textures. I also saw a lot of recycled paper textures, Arizona AZ Ariz.. Buy soma online without prescription, These just weren’t what I had in mind. Then there were the handmade paper textures, but again too fancy and fine art looking, price of soma. I finally found something that would suffice for now, order soma online, it was a water color type paper texture, or maybe you could say it looked like a canvas slightly, but it was white and the texture was subtle enough. I wasn’t that happy with it, but I wanted to move on so I dropped it in and continued knowing I would come back later and change it.

Design Squared

The first area I started with was the navigation. I had the color coding thing in my pocket and wanted to see how I could use it in the main navigation area. Price of soma, Since our logo was now a box I choose to start with “the square” being my first graphical element. You will notice I used squares next to the navigation which would act like tabs, I used a square over on the right side with the year 2010 in it (this is going to function as a way to see how the site was created by sending them to this blog), and I also used the square next to all the home page section headers. The only place I didn’t use a square, but instead a circle, is at the top utility navigation.

Gray be Gone

After that I added more color to the gray areas of the page and played with opacity since I know we are going to be taking advantage of CSS3. There is now RGBA which will let you control the opacity of any HEX color used such as background colors, borders, and text. You will also notice I did draw a dark gray line down the left side of the page, price of soma. This is just me trying to make those mistakes as fast as I can. Another thing that was still being used in these first roughs is the old logo, or at least it is being treated like the old logo. You will see it change to the refreshed version in the compositions to come.

Type Casting

The logo has now been changed and I started to play with fonts again. Price of soma, I won’t go into what font this is because it was only used for a short time. Again this is me playing around tweaking this and tweaking that. Through these first rough compositions where I am figuring out the graphical elements I am also changing the fonts and the way the type looks. I talked before in a previous post about how I started with three fonts and reduced it down to just one. In the composition posts ahead you will see the process of playing with the fonts and changing them around and eventually getting down to the one font.

Good stuff John. I’m actually a little surprised that you’re playing around with paper textures, since you’re usually so adamant about the web being the web and print being print, and never the twain shall meet. Aren’t you mixing the two mediums there, at least conceptually?

On another topic, you mention the opacity function new to CSS3. I don’t fully understand the big deal – wouldn’t it be the same as specifying a slightly less saturated color? Does it function the same? It’d be nice if you could post an example or two of it being used on other sites. Fly designer, fly!
